About the Author

 

 Deborah Elandus Lake is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary. She was the founding executive director for Sankofa Way Spiritual Services until she left the organization, in 2008 to write full-time, and train for her first AIDS Marathon.

 

I believe that God wants us to be happy, and happiness only comes when we are not violating others.

 

Columnist for the Windy City Media group, advisory board member for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Office of Minority Health and Resource Center, producer/host for the BlogTalkRadio program, All the Way IN, licensed facilitator for the Sidran Institute’s Risking Connection program, educator, and public speaker, Lake continues to find innovative ways to stop the hurt caused by hate.
